Cups and grams converter
Convert cups to grams and back for 22 common baking ingredients.

Example: 1 US cup of bread flour = 136 g

Open cups to grams
Oven temperature converter
Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius for any baking recipe.

Example: 350°F = 177°C

Yeast converter
Replace fresh, active dry, and instant yeast accurately.

Example: 10 g fresh yeast = 5 g active dry

Baker's percentage calculator
Analyze a recipe or build a dough from flour blend ratios and target percentages.

Example: 500 g flour + 350 g water = 70% hydration

Open baker's percentage
Dough hydration calculator
Calculate the water-to-flour ratio in a dough, or work backwards from a target hydration. Add a starter to include its flour and water in the total.

Hydration = water weight ÷ flour weight × 100. To find water, multiply flour by the target percentage ÷ 100.

Open tool
Levain calculator
Build a levain to a target weight and hydration, or calculate flour and water from a feeding ratio. The seed starter's flour and water are included in target builds.

Target flour = target levain weight ÷ (1 + target hydration ÷ 100). Subtract the flour and water already present in the seed starter.

Open tool
Pizza dough calculator
Scale a pizza dough recipe by the number and weight of dough balls. Set baker's percentages for hydration, salt, yeast, oil, and sugar.

Total dough weight = balls × weight per ball. Flour = total dough weight × 100 ÷ total baker's percentage; each other weight uses its percentage of flour.

Open tool
Desired dough temperature calculator
Calculate the mixing-water temperature needed to reach a desired dough temperature. Use the three-factor method or include a preferment for the four-factor method.

Water temperature = desired dough temperature × 3 − flour temperature − room temperature − friction factor.

Why ingredient selection matters

One cup does not have one universal gram value. A cup measures volume, while a gram measures weight. The same cup holds very different weights depending on the ingredient's density.

Examples per US cup (240 ml):

  • Water — 240 g
  • Bread flour — 136 g
  • White sugar — 200 g
  • Butter — 227 g

Denser ingredients pack more mass into the same volume. That is why FlourPilot always asks for the ingredient before converting, instead of applying a single number to everything.
